Fiscal Sponsorship

The Grateful Film Fund is completely aware of the fact that it can be difficult, if not seemingly impossible, for a film project under development to get funding. There are also opportunities where a production company could receive funding from nonprofit source, like a grant, but can’t accept the funds because it’s not itself a nonprofit corporation.

Fiscal sponsorship, where a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - like the Grateful Film Fund - accepts a donation on behalf of a for-profit entity and processes the gift for a nominal fee, is a funding avenue for film production companies to benefit from accessing nonprofit-sourced gifts without having to be a nonprofit itself.

The Grateful Film Fund wants to help promote films and series which share our same mission and values, and that includes having these projects fully funded. We also understand that every dollar counts so, unlike other fiscal sponsors who take anywhere from five to ten percent, we only require a modest three percent flat fee to process any and all tax-deductible gifts. No other dues or fees are neither expected nor required.

When there’s a mutual agreement that a partnership can and should be created, then it’s just the fairly simple process of creating and executing a formal agreement, and the sponsorship is in place for a single or even multi-project period.

If you feel that you and your team can benefit from having a fiscal sponsor, you can reach out directly to Rob Hollman, our Executive Director, who will be more than happy to engage in a conversation and answer any and all questions that you may have. You can contact him directly at: robhollman@gratefulfilm.org.

We hope that we can be of help to you and your project so that we can all be able share outstanding films and series for the greater public to engage with, appreciate, learn from, and enjoy.
